Premier Records Limited had a safe berth in the Nigerian music business environment in 1963 when it was incorporated to Phillips West Africa Records Limited. The company at different times has been renamed Phonogram Ltd, PolyGram Ltd due mainly to a change in ownership structure. However, one thing has remained constant with the organization, and this is the quest to add quality and creativity to the ever-expanding heritage which we jealously guard and flaunt as well.

The new Premier Records Limited logo is a P written with double lines such that the number, one (no. 1) is formed out of it. This means that Premier Music which is our nick name is the number one record label and entertainment outfit in Nigeria and by extension Africa. The P is the pulse of the beat emanating from within the heart of Nigeria and is colored white which is a sign of purity both in our music philosophy and business practice. The red background represents royalty which does not becloud the enthusiasm, passion & love we have for what we do.

Mr. Jimi Agbaje (Chairman)

Mr. Jimi Agbaje is the Chairman of the Board of Premier Records Limited. He studied Pharmacy at the then University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) Ile-Ife. In 1984, he set up his own pharmacy Jaykay Pharmacy Ltd which is one of the most reputable pharmacies in the country today. He is into manufacturing, importation and distribution of pharmaceuticals across the country.

 

Mrs. Bimbo Cardoso (Director)

Mrs. Bimbo Cardoso is a graduate of the University of Lagos Akoka. She has had varied experience in the Banking and Finance Industry. An astute entrepreneur, she has been involved in importation of various commodities for distribution in the Nigerian Market. She also has a passion for events management, a vocation which she fulfils continually.

Mr. Godwin A. Alegieuno (Director)

Mr. Godwin A. Alegieuno is the former Chief Executive Officer of The Lion Of Africa Insurance Company. He passed the final exams of the Chartered Association of Certified Accounts (ACCA), United Kingdom at the prime age of 21 in 1974 while studying for his H.N.D. at Yaba College of Technology. He is currently a fellow of the Association. He is a member of the American Management Association, the society of Fellows of the Chartered Insurance Institute, and the Institute of Directors, Nigeria.

Ms Lola Aboderin (Director)

Ms Lola Aboderin is an Accountant by profession. She is the Managing Director of Paper Sack (Nigeria) Ltd, and is on the board of several organizations including Punch (Nigeria) Ltd, publishers of the Punch Newspapers, Montomery Vaults Ltd, etc. She has a long experience in corporate management which spans decades.

Mr. Lolu Akinwunmi (Director)

Mr. Lolu Akinwunmi is the Managing Director and C.E.O of Prima Garnet, an Ogilvy & Mather one of the leading advertising agencies in world. He is a 1980 (B.A. Hons.) English graduate of the University of Lagos. He is a Fellow of the Nigerian Marketing Association, a member of the Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON), a member of the Association of Advertising Practitioners of Nigeria. Mr. Akinwunmi is also a member of the Institute of Directors & a member of the board of Ogivly & Mather Africa BV.

Mr. Toju A. Ejueyitchie (Managing Director)

Mr. Toju A. Ejueyitchie is the Managing Director of the company. He is a 1974 (Agric Econs) graduate of the University of Ibadan. He later joined the firm of Coopers & Lybrand where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1980. He joined Premier Records Limited in 1994 as Managing Director, a position he still holds.

THE PREMIER TEAM

Lanre Fakeye (Business Development Manager)

Lanre Fakeye is a graduate of Economics from the University of Calabar and a former Entertainment, Advertising and Marketing reporter with Tell Communications Limited. He is guru in brand management and saddled with the responsibility of driving the Company’s strategic plan with other adventurous members of management.

Michael Odiong (Special Projects Manager)

Michael Odiong is a graduate of English University of Uyo and the former General Manager of South Central Records and former marketing manager, Al-trade Agencies. His experience in events promotion and marketing has made him a team player in the company’s re-positioning strategy.

Mr. Primus Chimankpa Nwachukwu (Head of Sales Department)

He holds a (BSc) degree in Sociology at the then Anambra State University of Technology Awka (now Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka). He is an Associate Member of Nigerian Institute of Management (ANIM). He joined the company in 1993 and is instrumental to the increase in sales volumes experienced within the recent past
He is responsible for the sale function in the company.

Mr. Ojo Isaac Afeni (Accountant)

He holds a (HND) Accounting Fedaral Polytechnic Ado Ekiti. Ekiti State 2003 a student of Ican.
